Why are you running for Office?
I have been a resident of Currituck County for almost 25 years. I have had 7 children in Currituck County Schools and am actively engaged in our community.
Our growth has been, and will continue to be a challenge as we begin 2020. I believe I am the best equipped as a long time, engaged resident of the county to help manage the growth, the strains on the county’s budget, and to enhance the appeal of Currituck to business.
Five Issues Facing Currituck
- Managing growth Increased strain on county budget to provide services.
- Fire apparatus is getting increasingly expensive.
- Firefighter pay, needs to be evaluated to ensure Currituck remains competitive.
- Continued perception that Currituck is divided: ie. Outer Banks and mainland. We are One County, One Currituck.
- Ensuring County is running as efficiently as possible to prevent need for tax increase.
