Riddle, NC – Winfred “Buddy” D. Forbes of Riddle, NC went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 18, 1945 to the late Elsie Mae Forbes and Nathan Riggs Forbes.
Winfred was the loving husband of Joyce Turner Forbes for over forty years. He worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for twenty-five years. He later did what he loved the most, making wood crafts and repairing small engines. Winfred loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Daphne Forbes Robey (Sean) of Camden, NC, Nathan Forbes (Rhonda) of Hertford, NC and Tamara Hoffman (Robert) of Camden, NC; twelve grandchildren, Briant Robey, Seanna Robey Asper (Jeff), Kyle Lane (Natalie), Rachel Forbes McGlohon (Kenny), Cole Forbes, Kameron Forbes, Colby Ebert, Zach Hoffman, Gavin Hoffman, Walter Hoffman, Paul Searles (Jacinda) and Ryan Serles (Melanie); and three great-grandchildren, Kade McGlohon, Carter McGlohon and Brooke Asper.
He is predeceased by a son, John Anthony Forbes; a sister, Beatrice Sawyer; and a granddaughter, Lauren Searles.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church with Minister Jon Mason officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church in Winfred’s name.
