Moyock, NC — The Currituck Chamber of Commerce has named Juanita Krause as its new president, the organization announced Friday.

Krause, who has served the chamber for nearly a decade, succeeds Josh Bass. Bass is stepping down after 15 years in the role, a tenure marked by significant membership growth and the launch of several regional business initiatives.
“Serving as Chamber President has been an honor,” Bass said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of what we have built together and confident that Juanita will continue advancing the Chamber’s mission with vision and energy.”
Krause joined the chamber staff in December 2016 and most recently served as the organization’s membership director. Before her time with the chamber, she worked in residential development and construction management. A native of Cape May, New Jersey, Krause moved to Currituck County in 2006.
In her new role, Krause said she plans to focus on economic innovation and providing local enterprises with the tools necessary to prosper.
“Our vision is clear — to be the leading voice for business, driving economic growth and innovation,” Krause said. “I look forward to working closely with our members, partners, and community leaders as we continue building on the strong foundation Josh has created.”
During Bass’s 15-year leadership, the chamber expanded its programming and strengthened partnerships with various regional organizations. Under his direction, the chamber also launched the annual Currituck & Northern Outer Banks magazine.
Krause has been a visible figure in the local community for years, previously serving as the treasurer for the Moyock Elementary school PTA and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She has also served on the board of directors for the Food Bank of the Albemarle.
