Feb 7 : Area under Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service office in Wakefield, VA (AKQ) has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 6 am until 6 pm, Friday, February 7.

The advisory area includes the following counties in Northeastern North Carolina: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington.

The advisory area includes the following cities Southeastern Virginia: Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach.

Expect Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 to 50 mph in the affected areas Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
